This position is with the Hedland Follow The Dream program which is based at Hedland Senior High School.
The annual salary range is $65,326 - $70,754 based on 37.5 hours per week. This position will be employed for 30 hours per week (0.8) commencing August 2018 to December 2018 - with the possibility of continuation in 2019.
Approximately sixty Aboriginal students from Hedland Senior High School participate in the Follow The Dream program. Support is delivered at the school with students from Years 7-12 accessing after school assistance from expert tutors. The program is overseen by a Coordinator who monitors student progress, engagement and well-being and facilitates opportunities that support students striving to achieve the post- school career and life goals they set for themselves
The Program Support and Liaison Officer will assist the Program Coordinator in the organisation, delivery and administration of the Follow The Dream program. The role also involves having the capacity to form and maintain positive working relationships through extensive liaison and communication with Aboriginal students who participate in the Follow The Dream program as well as their parents, other community members, teachers, community organisations and prospective employers. Cultural knowledge and understanding of working with students and families from Aboriginal backgrounds is essential for this position.
