At yourtown, we believe every young person has the right to a brighter future and aim to be part of the solution by delivering services that get results. Our services include Kids Helpline, training and employment services for young people, parent education and specialist accommodation for families. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of services for young people in Australia with sites across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania. The community with yourtown’s Art Unions funds most of what we do. At yourtown you will be part of the solution.

We are going through an exciting period of growth and have created a number of new positions to better meet the needs of the residents at our San Miguel Family Centre in North Richmond, NSW.

Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond, San Miguel Family Centre provides transitional accommodation for young families experiencing homelessness.

The Case Worker – Families provides assessment, assistance and case management support to the children, young people and families who are staying at our Family Centre.  This includes managing a complex caseload; developing individual case plans for each family and individual; completing risk assessments and developing risk management plans; and participating in the planning, implementation, review and evaluation of life skills workshops and other programs.

About you:

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications, along with extensive experience in managing a complex case load, including working with children and young people with complex needs. You will demonstrate excellent child protection skills and the ability to assess risk and act accordingly. Your ability to undertake complex assessments will have been gained through your experience working with young people with complex needs. You will work within a clear client centred, child safe, trauma and attachment informed framework. You will demonstrate a strong knowledge of current evidence-based practice, programs, policies, legislation and trends and possess excellent communication, conflict resolution and report writing skills.

As a national child safe organisation, yourtown undertakes a Working with Children Check and a National Criminal History Check as part of our recruitment process.

At yourtown our town is your town. We’re all about people, how we work with each other and the hundreds and thousands we care for each year. We take the time to listen, understand and encourage people to find their place. We offer attractive employment conditions including access to salary packaging arrangements and paid parental leave.
