Tasmania’s largest private employer – Federal Group – are ready to welcome a People and Culture Manager and People and Culture Advisor into two newly created roles based in Hobart.

People and Culture Manager

As People and Culture Manager your initial priority will be building productive partnerships with the Federal Group Corporate leadership team who head a range of shared-service units, including those with a focus on information technology and finance.

In this role you’ll enjoy high levels of autonomy as you develop and implement a broad range of human resource related strategies that support the business to achieve its goals. As the business is in a period of change, your proactive approach, boundless initiative and resilience, and experience in supporting teams through transform and challenges will be greatly valued.  Your ability to provide expert advice on the management of complex and sensitive employee relations situations will also be appreciated, along with the skilled way in which you ensure the business is appropriately supported with the day-to-day HR related administrative functions it needs (which are delivered by your People and Culture Advisor).

This is a well-rounded leadership role, with responsibilities spanning workforce planning, people strategy, organisational development, employee performance, and contribution to business strategy and planning. Coming onboard with us you’ll have the opportunity to shape the HR landscape across the Corporate portfolio as you lead the development of HR frameworks that promote compliance, efficiency and set the business on the best practice pathway.

People and Culture Advisor

Supporting the People and Culture Manager and working across the Corporate portfolio, this is a smart career move for a passionate HR professional who is looking to advance their career with a large, diverse business.

As People and Culture Advisor you will provide timely, reliable advice to managers in relation to routine HR matters and perform core functions that underpin the business’ success, including those associated with recruitment, performance management, and learning and development.  You’ll also manage the business’ people related compliance obligations and ensure the administrative side of HR is in order. You’ll also be recognised and rewarded for your ability to identify opportunities to improve HR systems and processes, and your can-do attitude when presented with problems to solve.

This role is an ideal stepping stone into a management career and highly suited for those who are self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple streams of work and priorities. Success in this position will require the ability to form strong relationships, a passion for all things HR, an eagerness to undertake day-to-day work to the highest standard, and the drive to develop professionally through involvement in projects.
