Australian News Channel (Sky News Australia) is recruiting for the new role of Digital Product Manager based at its fast-paced 24-hour Macquarie Park newsroom and reporting to the Head of Digital.

About the role: 

  • Manage multiple high-profile products, including and associated mobile and OTT apps

  • Develop and implement the Product Roadmap to ensure the continued evolution of our digital assets, creating new video-led environments and platforms for delivery of Sky News content

  • Be responsible for developing Digital products from inception through to launch, often with short turnaround times as we respond to breaking news events

  • Collaborate with Sky News Engineering team members where required to launch new products and troubleshoot platform issues

  • Work closely with Digital News Producers to ensure that all Sky News digital touchpoints have appropriate video content available within them

  • Generate regular reporting for Sky News management to monitor and optimise various platforms

  • Responsible for Sky News content across Foxtel VOD platforms, working directly with Foxtel on processes and managing Sky News on-demand content across the Foxtel App and Foxtel On Demand

  • You will work collaboratively with the Audio Product & Content Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to deliver breaking news and analysis content via emerging platforms, in partnership with leading technology platforms such as Google, Amazon, Facebook and Twitter

  • Work directly with agency partners and key clients as required on commercial partnerships

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience in successfully creating and implementing digital product roadmaps for major brands

  • Website design & development experience, understanding of hosting and DNS

  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to use CMS platforms and experience with HTML, Javascript & CSS

  • Knowledge of XML/RSS, JSON and understanding of APIs / REST would be beneficial

  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

  • A strong understanding of digital technology and video platforms, preferably with experience in live or on-demand streaming media

  • Has commercial acumen and the ability to deliver brand-funded concepts for advertisers, manage revenue forecasting, and experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research to make informed business decisions

  • Proven experience of creating business and finance models, analytics, pricing, marketing and business reporting

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to take ownership and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Displays a strong interest in Australian news and understanding of politics and national affairs
