IT Systems Administrator

About the role

This role will be responsible for providing technical support and knowledge across a wide array of ICT systems and technologies to facilitate the operation of the business. 

Key duties of the role will be:

  • Managing the helpdesk and assist in resolving tickets and escalating unresolved queries;
  • Hands on deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all current IT systems, operating systems, databases, telephones, software applications, and peripherals;
  • Proactively assisting in the day to day maintenance of systems and the implementation of new systems;
  • Coordinating new site setups, including managing external vendors and contractors with some interstate travel required from time to time;
  • Managing VMWare cluster;
  • Administering AD and Windows servers, 2008R2 through to 2016;
  • Office 365;
  • Desktop and application support;
  • Supporting warehouse RF networks, Access Points and RF scanning devices; and
  • Coordinating and providing assistance with projects and other system installations.

About you

Together with a real passion and desire to help those around you at embracing technology, you will have:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a systems support role;
  • Tertiary qualifications or vendor certification will be highly regarded;
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to help and explain technical concepts to end users using everyday language in a professional and courteous manner;
  • Ability to adopt a highly agile approach to their work practice;
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise;
  • Strong commercial acumen; and
  • Ability to multi-task with competing priorities.
