Carer Support is a not for profit organisation providing a one-stop support service to people caring for a loved one in Adelaide’s eastern and southern suburbs.
With nearly 30 years’ experience, Carer Support understands that looking after someone with an illness or disability can take a huge toll on a carer’s own health and family life. Our qualified team provides practical help, support and advice, which includes providing much-needed breaks, activities to help people stay socially connected and managing NDIS plans.
Carer Support is seeking up to three carer and/or community representatives to join the board ideally bringing a skill set not only from their experience as carers, but also from running a business, understanding administration and financial principles, provision of consumer services in the community sector, or public relations, communications and marketing.
Whilst previous board experience is not compulsory it would be helpful if interested persons understand how community/NFP organisations work, and understand the roles and responsibilities of board members.
With many changes set to revolutionise the provision of caring services, this is a very exciting and personally rewarding time to be involved in representing the caring sector.
