Resort Entertainment Attendant - Seasonal Casual

As a Resort Entertainment Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have a fun, safe and entertaining holiday experience in our guest facilities includes but is not limited to the biggest Aqua Play Water Park in a resort in the southern hemisphere and the Planet Chill Ice rink!

 

The Duties/Responsibilities of a Resort Entertainment Attendant will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide quality activities to in-house guests in a timely manner as per daily schedule.
  • Follow all communication procedures and provide a safe environment for guests in the Pool Area.
  • Explain principles, techniques and safety procedures to participants in REC activities and demonstrate use of equipment and waterpark.
  • Organise, lead and promote interest in REC activities such as art, craft, games etc.
  • Evaluate REC activities, facilities and services in order to determine if they are producing the desired results.
  • Up-sell Resort Entertainment and Activities.
  • Performing in front of large crowds.
  • Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large audience, using effective and courteous microphone techniques.
  • The person will serve as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain groups of guests hosting events such as Games shows, Karaoke, Quizzes, Bingo and your own events based on your personal talents eg. Leader of line dancing, queen of zumba etc...

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience as Master of Ceremonies or in high profile entertainment in theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc., or in resorts, cruise lines or recreational facilities.
  • Have previous experience working with KIDS.
  • Be a born ENTERTAINER; enjoy putting a smile on the guests face!
  • Be available for a variety of shifts; including days, nights, weekends and Public Holidays.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times – create those Magic Moments!
  • Have a current Queensland Blue Card, or willing to attain one (essential).
  • Have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willing to attain one (essential).
  • Enjoy working in the sun and be part of the poolside action.
  • Be self-motivated, have initiative and be bursting with energy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Have experience in Birthday Parties and Kids Activities; including school groups (advantageous).

 

The advertised Resort Entertainment Attendant positions are offered on a seasonal casual basis until the end of February 2019. At the end of this period, there may be the opportunity to apply for ongoing work.

 

A Group Interview will be conducted for shortlisted applicants.

 

We will have springboards and props on the day of your group interview to help you showcase your talents such as microphone scripts and craft props to host a workshop. Alternatively, you can bring in something of your own or have a small presentation prepared to showcase your talents. Examples are hosting a bingo or trivia session, a Zumba class, line dancing, introducing a cooking or slime making workshop etc. The opportunities are endless be as creative as you can. Remember it is not the task you choose to present to us that is the main importance- it is HOW you present it that we will be looking for! Please keep this limited to 3-5  minutes duration.
