Clinical Trial Assistant (Oncology & Haematology)

The Company:
Linear Clinical Research Limited is a purpose built, early phase clinical trials facility operating out of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Campus in Perth. Founded by Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (Perkins) and built through funds provided by the Western Australian Government, Linear Clinical Research is Western Australia's only dedicated early phase clinical trials facility, and is one of only a small number operating in Australia.

The Role:
The successful applicant will become part of an established phase I oncology team working at the forefront in the discovery of novel agents, new treatments and improving patient care.

The Clinical Trial Assistant plays an important role in the delivery of direct and indirect clinical trial related care of patients, associated data collection and maintenance of  essential trial documentation for concurrent studies.

Duties:

  • Assisting the research team in the coordination of clinical trials under the guidance of the Clinical Trial Coordinator and Project Lead.
  • Assisting in the care of patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with the protocol, reporting requirements and ICH -GCP guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely source documentations and data entry, and the maintenance of essential documents that validate integrity in the conduct of the clinical trial.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous research experience or willingness to undertake appropriate education to meet the needs of the position.
  • An understanding of good clinical practice guidelines (GCP and current GCP certification or willingness to undertake appropriate education in this area.
  • Ability to contribute effectively as a participative member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent patient management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst maintaining a strong team approach.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
