The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and motivated individuals to join Linear’s Clinical Research Team as Haematology/Oncology Registered Nurses. 

We are currently seeking experienced nurses to support our rapidly expanding services in the field of Haematology & Oncology research.  Ideally we are seeking individuals who want a new challenge and have a passion for the development of therapies in this treatment area to improve patient outcomes. 

We need nurses who are able to work flexible hours and rotate across all shifts to assist with the conduct of our clinical trials in  F/T, P/T or Casual roles.  You will be a delight to work with, diligent, adaptive, use your initiative, handle pressure effectively and enjoy a challenge.  You will embrace and exemplify Linear’s guiding principles of ‘thinking creatively, collaborating openly and working carefully’ and seek solutions that will delight your patients, the organisation and clients.

Duties:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the clinical trial in the clinic setting.  Perform clinical procedures manage and record adverse effects according to the approved protocol and Linear Clinical Research SOP's.
  • Provide general nursing and pastoral care, monitoring the wellbeing of patients, providing support to family members and liaising with the medical team and taking appropriate action when necessary.       
  • Administer Investigational Products, prescription and concomitant medications via all routes (ie,PO, I.V., IM, SC etc), per legislative requirements and company policy.
  • Perform and provide training and supervision of non - clinical staff to correctly and safely perform clinical tasks including, but not limited to blood sampling via cannula, venepuncture, vital signs, ECGs, as well as accurate documentation of adverse events and data.

Skills and Experience:

  • Currently registered as a Div 1 Nurse registered with AHPRA with no restrictions
  • Minimum of 1 years post graduation experience
  • Essential Oncology, Haematology trained, previous experience in a clinical research setting will be highly regarded, but not essential
  • Accreditation or interest in gaining accreditation to administer Chemotherapy agents and manage Central Venous Access Devices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. 
  • Proven initiative, ability to work within a team, as well as autonomously, ability to handle multiple tasks with ease, high attention to detail with excellent time management
  • Sound knowledge of ICH/GCP advantageous.  
  • Excellent computer literacy.  Experience in using Google Apps, Word and Excel.
