About the role

  • The Gallery Officer will ensure there are efficient operations of the Rosalie Art Gallery and Community Space at Goombungee including the supervision of a team of volunteers, exhibition development, collection management and event organization, and attention to building security and work place health and safety.
  • The Salary Range for this position is $25,089.34 - $27,010.34 gross per annum, pro-rata of full time rate $62,723.36 - $67,525.85 plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.
  • This is a permanent part-time position which requires the successful applicant to work two (2) days totalling in a duration of 14.5 hours per week.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

  1. Hold the mandatory qualification(s), training and or experience, as outlined under the Success Criteria in the attached Position Description.
  2. Demonstrated written communication skills, with the ability to develop and draft correspondence and reports.
  3. Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. 
  4. Demonstrated computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
  5. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies used for photographic enhancement, scanning and digitizing art work.
  6. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate and timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner to a variety of internal and external customers.
  7. Demonstrated ability to curate exhibitions using a sound knowledge of Australian visual art, artistic techniques and associated organizational skills.
  8. Demonstrated time management skills and ability to lead, plan, organise, supervise and motivate staff (volunteers) to achieve set and agreed performance and service standards.
  9. Commitment to Council's Organisational Value and Behaviour: Collaboration and Teamwork.
