National Partnerships Manager

The Australian Institute of Architects is a peak professional and national membership-based organisation representing over 11,000 architects across Australia. It exists to enhance the cultural, environmental and economic well-being of the community by advancing contemporary practice and the professional capability of members and advocating the value of architecture and architects.

Role overview:

The National Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving the implementation and delivery of the Institute’s high-profile corporate partnership and major sponsorship programs, working closely in partnership with the National Events team based team based in Canberra. The role encompasses partner recruitment, retention, creative development and evaluation of relationship marketing strategies.

Ideal candidate:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a background in a similar partnerships-based role.  You will have a strong focus on developing sponsorship programs and have the ability to work across divisions, develop and maintain strong relationships to cultivate a successful sponsorship program nationally.  Along with this, you will have a strong commercial drive to secure new sponsorship partners nationally.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing or similar
  • An ability to develop productive working relationships through the nurturing of internal and external relationships and partnerships
  • A proven track record in a partnership-based role
  • Strong sales focus and ability
  • Experience in overseeing and contributing to large-scale events
  • Experience in developing and managing sponsorship programs

Key responsibilities: 

  • Drive the creation, development, implementation and evaluation of sponsorship programs for current and potential corporate partners
  • Manage agreements/entitlements and maintain strong relationships
  • Manage sponsorship allocations budget
  • Ensure internal teams understand the value to be delivered and provide timely advice of corporate partner benefits and programs
  • Work closely with divisional heads to develop and deliver nationally coordinated corporate partner and major sponsorship initiatives through respective chapters and business units
  • Work with existing Corporate Partners to develop and evolve their leverage programs so that strong outcomes are delivered to Institute members
