Experienced Youth Worker / Social Worker

Global Disability and Health Care Services is a leader in Health and Disability Staffing Services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Social Worker / Youth Worker with high level of written and vocal communication skills, experience with Children and young adolescent and their families. The right candidate would have an understanding of the impact of social care to efficiently provide a continuous support and network to their development. The Social Worker will also need to demonstrate the knowledge in managing children and adolescent that has behavioural and complex needs.

The Responsibilities and / or duties include:

·         Demonstrate effective communication through written and verbal with reporting of daily reports, communication books, data communication, incident reports, Work Health and Safety risk assessments.

·         Providing consultation, advocacy and assessing clinical plans and treatment to patients, families and their Carers 

·         Assisting with daily individual, positive interactions and social skills

·         Assist and implement skills and behavioural management plans to provide the young person with positive responses and social skills.

·         Maintain Consistency in the schedules of the clients and day to day activities

·         Assist in planning behavioural care plans and assessments

·         Participate in case reviews with relevant people in relation to the young person’s needs

·         Assist and supervise with daily chores, living competencies and community access whilst all following policies and procedure of the plan.

·         Be able to promote positive engagement of young children and adults effectively

 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Social and Youth Work and/or Psychology
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with children  and young adults in OOHC, Drug and Alcohol abuse and Mental Health.
  • National Police Check (up to date)
  • Working with Children’s check (up to date)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Time Management skills
  • Excellent communication in written and verbal skills
  • An excellent phone manner and etiquette
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
