Landscape Architect (CANBERRA)

We are seeking a Landscape Architect with 1-5 years experience to join our landscape team. Candidates should be highly creative, self motivated with a passion for the profession and desire to learn and grow into the business.

The position demands experience in design, documentation and project management for a wide variety of projects including some of Canberra's highest profile developments.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Landscape Architect, Canberra the primary responsibilities of the position will be:

  • To provide appropriate technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To coordinate and manage the delivery of exciting landscape architecture and urban planning projects.
  • To work with a high degree of independence, completing projects from initial planning phase through to final detail design and documentation.
  • To work with the Principal to increase client base.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture;
  • Minimum 1-5 years experience;
  • Competency with relevant software including Microsoft Office,  Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD, Sketch-Up;
  • Experience in the delivery of projects from concept design through to detail design documentation and contract administration;
  • Ability to work autonomously as part of a dynamic and very busy team;
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and,
  • Project management proficiency and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of specification writing and Bill of Quantities preparation;
  • Experience with local government design standards/approvals will be viewed favourably;
  • Advanced horticultural knowledge;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team; and,
  • Passion for design excellence, innovation and environmental stewardship.
