Full time position – Located in Melbourne CBD, 5 minute Walk from Flagstaff Station

Steve Watson and Partners is one of Australia's leading Building Surveying consultancy firms operating in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. We provide professional Building Surveying & Certification services to the property, development, construction and infrastructure sectors with involvement in some of the largest construction projects in Australia.

We are seeking an enthusiastic motivated and professional full time Technical Admin Assistant to join our Melbourne office to work within a friendly Administration team, supporting the technical staff. The role is fast paced and presents variety on a daily basis. You will be responsible for a diverse range of administration duties and you will truly add value to this great organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Building Consultancy firm who value their staff and encourage a friendly working environment.

The main duties & responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Building Certification Team and staff as required
  • Use and manage in house software
  • Meet, greet and liaising with clients and customers
  • Reception functions
  • Prepare fee proposals and expressions of interests & tenders on all types of projects
  • Prepare statutory paperwork for building approvals
  • IT trouble shooting and scheduling repairs
  • Follow up client calls and e-mails in a timely and professional manner
  • Other administrative duties as directed

 

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Enjoy solving problems
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with a clear phone manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Sound knowledge of Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Professional presentation and appearance
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office
