Group Logistics Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will be responsible for shaping and influencing the strategic operation of the Group Logistics function.

This role will provide a calculated layer to the Group Warehouse function, ensuring operations are aligned with the Company’s direction.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Creating policies and procedures for logistics activities;
  • Implementing specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics;
  • Monitoring product import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements;
  • Negotiating transportation rates or services;
  • Supervising the work of warehousing, planners, or schedulers;
  • Developing Risk Management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios;
  • Planning and implementing improvements to internal and/or external logistics systems or processes; and
  • Analysing the financial impact of proposed logistics changes.

About you

Coupled with your qualifications in Logistics Management and Business, you will be tenacious and ambitious, striving to achieve strong output and over achieving results for the Company. Additionally you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Logistics role within an FMCG environment;
  • Previous experience managing complex logistics frameworks for Australian retail, Foodservice and Export overseas from multiple sites;
  • Strong change agent with a high focus on continuously improving the logistics network;
  • Strong managerial skills to successfully manage multiple functions and tasks concurrently;
  • Ability to motivate cross functional teams to get the result for the customer;
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to thrive in an agile working environment; and 
  • Strong commercial acumen.
