MACq 01 Sous Chef

MACq 01 is Australia’s first storytelling hotel and winner of Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Best Large Hotel’ 2018 and Australian Hotel Association’s ‘Best Overall Hotel’ 2018. We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to join our team of talented Chefs.

Our aim is to celebrates Tasmania’s incredible fresh local produce and the latest catch from our waterfront location, to ensure that we deeply connect our guests to their dining experience. As our Sous Chef, the Old Wharf Restaurant is where your passion and drive will thrive, along with exposure to across our food and beverage outlets.

Your honesty, positivity and passion for cooking makes you the ideal candidate for this role and this is a fantastic opportunity for an up–and-coming Chef who is ready to take the next step. You will both contribute to and be supported by our diverse kitchen leadership team to grow and develop your skills and abilities. You will also receive access to training and leadership opportunities along with benefits from our network of internal and external partners. 

You will bring with you your:

  • Experience supervising a kitchen in a similar environment, 
  • Excellent people skills and ability to build rapport with teammates,
  • Innovation and creativity for sharing and implementing new ideas, 
  • Desire to ensure guests expectations are exceeded,
  • Reliable and flexible approach to rostering requirements, and
