Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AP Officer to join our team on a full time basis for a period of up to 6 months. Reporting to the AP Supervisor and working within an experienced team, your role will be integral in providing end-to-end support of the Accounts Payable function. You will complete, with accuracy and timeliness, all invoice processing ensuring adherence to approval requirements. 

This role will also be responsible for:

  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately;
  • Reconciling supplier statements;
  • Resolving and responding to supplier account queries in a timely manner;
  • Liaising with purchasing and warehouse teams to verify 3 way matching of invoices, purchase orders and good receipts;
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders within the Company for invoice approval and coding;
  • Reconciling goods received but not yet invoiced; and
  • Liaising with external suppliers as well as key internal stakeholders.

About you

You will be comfortable working in a high volume environment and have a strong understanding of the end-to-end Accounts Payable function. We are looking for someone that thrives in our fast paced environment and is willing to be a key team player.

Additionally, you will have:

  • A minimum of 5+ years Accounts Payable experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry;
  • Strong IT Skills, with experience using an ERP system and Excel;
  • Strong problem solving skills with a high attention to detail;
  • The ability to cope with pressure and handle a number of tasks simultaneously by prioritizing;
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Takes initiative to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • A strong can do and positive attitude, who proactively looks for solutions to areas of problems;
  • High level of stakeholder engagement and appropriate communication management;
  • Strong commercial acumen; and
  • Independent and autonomous self-starter.
