Bar / Gaming / TAB Attendant

The Royal Hotel is part of Spirit Hotels.  We operate over 70 hotels in Queensland with small portfolios in Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales.  Our pubs feature some of the best bars, restaurants, fast casual dining options and gaming rooms across Australia and our core purpose is to operate 'Great Pubs Locals Love'.

The Royal Hotel is situated adjacent to the picturesque Castle Hill in one of Townsville's oldest suburbs. Customers can enjoy a meal from the bistro, have a punt on the Pokies, TAB or Keno, or simply enjoy the surroundings by lazing back on our verandah with a cold beverage, which is almost essential in the tropical north.

Despite their differences, our pubs all share one common goal … to dish up an unforgettable hospitality experience. 

Our Team Members are the face of our hotels.  They are the first welcoming smile and that last wave goodbye.  More than just plate runners and beer pourers, our team members are hospitality rock stars. They roll with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deal with a variety of different tasks and personalities. We are on the lookout for new team members who are passionate, energetic and vibrant, and can deliver awesome customer service… in addition to having great chat.

Prior experience working in bars or restaurants is preferred, but not essential as full training is given.  As a Team Member you will:

  • Be responsible for taking orders and serving top quality food and beverages.
  • Be a team player, working closely with others to create a friendly, inviting atmosphere for our customers.
  • Need to be flexible as you will work rostered shifts including nights and week-ends.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, compliance and cash handling procedures.
  • You'll be confident with customers and have an interest and experience in gaming and TAB operations.
  • You will be dressed for success and handle glass with class.
