Casual Duty Manager

The Royal Hotel is part of Spirit Hotels.  We operate over 70 hotels in Queensland with small portfolios in Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales.  Our pubs feature some of the best bars, restaurants, fast casual dining options and gaming rooms across Australia and our core purpose is to operate 'Great Pubs Locals Love'.

The Royal Hotel is situated adjacent to the picturesque Castle Hill in one of Townsville's oldest suburbs. Customers can enjoy a meal from the bistro, have a punt on the Pokies, TAB or Keno, or simply enjoy the surroundings by lazing back on our verandah with a cold beverage, which is almost essential in the tropical north.

Spirit Hotels Duty Managers are multi-talented superstars who are switched on, energetic team players.  Our Duty Managers are a crucial link between our front line team members and hotel management.  They support and guide team members on a daily basis and their actions always promote our desired values and workplace culture.  Duty Managers are dressed to impress and are driven by a passion for people, quality and continuous learning.

What do I need to have?

You’ll need to be a champion of all things service and hospitality, and:

  • Work as part of our team to create a fun & inviting atmosphere for our customers.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, compliance and cash handling procedures.
  • Need to be flexible as you will work rostered shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Have demonstrated experience in a similar role in a high volume customer environment.
  • Hold a current Gaming Employee Licence, Approved Manager’s, RSA, RSG and RMLV.
  • Be able to think on your feet as you learn and adapt to an ever changing environment.
