Procurement Officer

Through participation in the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) / Destroyer Guided Missile (DDG), Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) and LHD Landing Craft (LLC) programs, Navantia Australia has been a part of interesting, innovative and cutting-edge shipbuilding and sustainment activities.

As a key part of the Australian government's Naval Shipbuilding Plan, we are committed to growing Australia's shipbuilding capability and we want you to grow your career with us.

We are currently looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join the team and add value through efficiency and supplier negotiations and manage the end-to end of supply chain activities.  

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, establish, place and manage appropriate purchasing and contracting arrangements with approved suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Optimise the cost benefits, quality, safety and reliability of materials, goods and services to maximise value and minimise risk.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and functional stakeholders to define requirements and ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
  • Receive RFQ’s, prepare and submit responses to our clients
  • Effective management and administration of agreements and purchase orders
  • Manage supplier performance in terms of schedule, cost and quality
  • Look for new potential suppliers and evaluate them.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline.
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage and prioritise your own activities to meet project schedules as well as collaboratively with stakeholders
  • The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients
  • Strong procurement experience in the technical, industrial or defence sector
  • Extensive knowledge of purchasing systems
  • SAP and Excel proficiency highly regarded
