Your new role 
Reporting to the Manager of City Projects, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring and inspiring a team to plan, design and deliver of wide range of capital works projects.  In this leadership role, you’ll:

  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary professionals to design and construct capital works program in relations to civil infrastructure, including drains, footpaths, car parks, buildings and sportsground, in line with the deliverables of the Council.
  • Provide expert technical advice in relation to capital program delivery priorities
  • Embed robust project management systems and frameworks that promote excellence and provide transparency of projects
  • Actively engage key stakeholders in a collaborative way that supports positive outcomes for project delivery
  • Engage, monitor and manage external contractors to deliver civil projects

What you'll need to succeed 
The successful person will hold engineering qualifications that are sufficient for NEPR recognition. You will have proven experience in delivering significant and complex civil and capital works projects on time and within budget. You will be a results based person that is delivery and outcome focussed, coupled with demonstrated people management experience. Knowledge of government and local government will be advantageous.
