DATABASE OFFICER - Learning and Teaching

Braemar College is an independent co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 -12 in the Macedon Ranges.  This position supports the Head of Campus to accurately maintain operational and school related databases  to ensure the smooth delivery of Learning and Teaching for teachers and students This position is primarily located at the Mt Macedon Campus.

The Role:

This position is pivotal in the maintenance of relevant database systems that support the learning and teaching operations of the College.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Ensure security and integrity of data in school related databases.
  • Maintain and input data accurately into College databases including VASS, SEQTA, Naplan etc.
  • Ensure the College complies with the VCAA timelines.
  • Provide assistance to students and parents in relation to subject selection.
  • Co-ordinate timetabling updates for students and teachers.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare parent teacher conferences utilising Parent Teacher Online (PTO) system.
  • Organise and co-ordinate learning database updates at the start of a semester eg. Edrolo and Learningfields 

This position requires the incumbent to have:

  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of student information.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to think critically.
  • The ability to understand complex databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with staff, students and parents at all levels.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a professional service capacity.
  • Well-developed computer skills in the Windows software suite.
  • The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to maintain an excellent level of attendance and punctuality.
  • The ability to display and uphold the Braemar Staff Member Essential Characteristics, including professionalism and personal attributes.

Previous experience within an educational environment or in a role that utilises databases to facilitate the smooth running of school orsimilar organisation would be an advantage.

It is possible this position will provide backup to other educational support positions.
