Intake and Assessment Clinician - LikeMind Orange

  • Seeking Allied Health Professionals to join a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions

About the role...

Aftercare is looking for an experienced Intake and Assessment Officer to join our team.   full-time preferred however part time considered.  As part of a multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for the initial intake and assessment of LikeMind Orange clients.

Aftercare is the lead agency of the LikeMind pilot in Orange providing triage, assessment and clinical interventions to adults who are at risk of or have a diagnosed mental illness, and who may not be currently connected with the mental health sector.

As part of LikeMind Orange you will:

  • Participate in triaging/intake of new referrals to the service;
  • Complete mental health assessments, including completion of mental state examination, risk assessment, case formulations and develop initial care plans;
  • Provide high standard assessments and evidence based therapeutic interventions;
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, their families/significant others and relevant service systems to respond appropriately to their mental health needs
  • Provide positive consultation, liaison and linkage with internal and external service systems regarding the mental health needs of consumers of the service.

The Right Fit...

* Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for membership of the appropriate professional body.

  • Registered Nurse - Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent; Mental Health Nursing experience (or equivalent) preferred.  Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Occupational Therapist - Bachelor Degree of Occupational Therapy with experience in mental health sector.  Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice with the National Board.
  • Psychologist - registration as a psychologist or eligibility for Provisional Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Social Worker - approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
*            Demonstrated computer skills and ability to maintain client/program records; provide statistical data and reports to management as required
*            Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively
*            Current Driver's License
