ICT Operations Manager

The YMCA operates a number of services including Child Care, health and fitness, education and training, outdoor education and camping, accommodation and hospitality along with benevolent activities including the YMCA Vocational School and the Schools' Breakfast program.


Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will take charge of and oversee the day-to-day operational ICT functions of the organisation, resolve user issues, provide outstanding customer service as well as manage and support a small team of ICT professionals. 

 


Your Key Responsibilities in this position will include: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day ICT operations, including service desk, back-ups, Active Directory Management, hardware and software, asset and software licence management and procurement, ensuring minimal downtime;
  • Provision of technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems using analytical and investigative techniques;
  • Ensure YMCA ICT administration activities are best practice, documented and maintained in accordance with YMCA Policy;
  • Develop and implement systems and processes, as directed, using industry standard service delivery frameworks;
  • In consultation with the ICT Manager, oversee, manage and support all ICT support staff;
  • Maintain YMCA ICT assets, equipment and software register, including performing random audits;
  • Manage the implementation of assigned ICT project work within agreed timeframes;
  • Contribute to the development of future business systems needs of YMCA and relevant solutions.

The successful candidate will be able to meet the following Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent and a minimum MCSA/MCSE or equivalent;
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ ICT operations experience working with Microsoft client and server operating environments;
  3. Minimum 3 years’ ICT management experience including ICT infrastructure planning and development;
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills;
  5. Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships;
  6. Demonstrated results orientation, sound judgement and problem solving ability;
  7. Strong organisational and time management skills and an ability to effectively manage competing priorities;
  8. Ability to handle, in a professional manner, queries, complaints and any difficult situations which may arise;
  9. Willing and able to work flexible hours as determined by business requirements;
  10. Current Open Drivers Licence and Blue Card.
