Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring all of Honda Australia’s internal and external requirements for financial reporting are delivered efficiently and effectively. The role is imperative in ensuring that the financials of Honda Australia’s represents a true and fair position of the company.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading the review of the allocated monthly departmental profit and loss reports to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial information
  • Responsible to business partner and provide the relevant departmental managers are supported from a financial acumen point of view
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual result reporting in BOFC (Honda Motors global financial reporting platform)
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and maintain accuracy of financial data
  • Responsible in the coordination of the audit process of Honda Australia Pty Ltd (based on the reconciliations allocated to this role and other key areas)
  • Main contact for year-end audit with external auditors and prepare financial statement
  • Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to enable the delivery of an efficient and stream-lined service
  • Preparation of year end corporate tax schedule
  • Review of yearly Dealer and AUH fringe benefit tax schedules
  • Diligent in documenting changes key processes and procedures relevant to the role per the new SAP system as well as ensuring a stream lined documentation process is adhered too
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller as and when the business requires technical accounting policies to be adopted / created
  • Review of monthly GST and BAS reconciliations for lodgement
  • Provide coaching / mentoring support to the Accounts Payable co-ordinator
  • Complete and assist with other ad hoc finance tasks and project based work as they arise
About you
The successful candidate will have:
  • Full CA/CPA qualification;
  • Experience in chartered accounting firm (Big 4 or mid-tier) experience is preferred;
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP system;
  • Strong communication skills and be able to influence managers and directors;
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory reporting process;
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills;
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and delegate tasks;
  • Ability to engage with management and non-finance departmental managers; and
  • Ability to demonstrate an innovative mindset and provide experiences in continuous improvement.
