Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor - Lake Glenbawn

About us

Lake Glenbawn Holiday Park is an iconic destination in the upper hunter providing tourist accommodation and camping facilities 7 days a week. We are looking for a motivated and capable grounds and facilities maintenance person.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Park Manager, this is a role with responsibility for the management of the Grounds maintenance activities including cleaning and maintenance of park amenities and picnic grounds. A background in maintaining grounds of a large reserve or facility and amenity and cabin maintenance will be well regarded.

This is a full-time role, working to a roster which includes weekend, public holiday and on-call duties. This position is required to live on-site and will be provided accommodation as part of the remuneration package.

Duties include:

  • Lead and manage a small team of grounds staff including setting expectations of service standards and performance.
  • Manage the day to day operations of grounds maintenance, including lawns, tree maintenance, service and repair of machinery cleaning and maintaining amenities and camp kitchen areas
  • Manage the day to day operation of Facilities including general and emergency maintenance and upgrades, road repairs and upkeep, and upkeep of all other park assets
  • Monitoring of the onsite water treatment and sewer treatment infrastructure
  • Manage the day to day operation of security in park.
  • Assisting the Park Manager to ensure operational and strategic plans are met.
  • Inducting and managing Contractors in the Grounds operational area.
  • Managing staff rostering, budgeting records keeping and invoicing for the grounds operational area.

Key Requirements:

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current drivers licence (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in general maintenance repairs and cleaning and/or grounds maintenance
  • Experience in managing and supervising of staff.
  • Experience in heavy Machinery operation and managing routine servicing
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution to enable effective liaison at all levels,
  • Basic maintenance skills (essential) and trade level qualifications (desirable)
