Mining Engineer - Drill & Blast

About the Role

Reporting into the Senior Mining Engineer, you will assist the mine to safely achieve the production targets through the provision of Drill & Blast engineering including stope designs, firing plans, QA/QC, stope reconciliations and other technical activities.

Key Criteria

  • Bachelor of Mining Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in an underground mining environment
  • Completion of underground practical experience as required for the WA First Class Mine Manager certification.
  • Previous Experience with the use of Deswik (CAD & UGBD)
  • Drill & Blast design experience raise bore, box hole, drilling and charge plans for the excavation of stopes.
  • Confident providing engineering support to the Mine Foreman in the day to day operational requirements
  • Reviewing and maintaining the accuracy and currency of the ‘Drill and Blast Guidelines’ document.
  • Managing explosive consumables to ensure a practical and sufficient supply is available at all times.
  • Performing duties associated with the logging and blasting of iKon II detonators
  • High attention to detail with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Strong understanding safety management
  • You must be either an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position.
