CS Health, a business unit of Coal Services, has 70 years' experience providing specialist workplace health services to the NSW coal mining industry including occupational medical assessments, treatment services, injury prevention and workplace rehabilitation. CS Health works in partnership with industry to protect the health and well-being of workers, employers and the communities in which they live.

About the role:

We are currently seeking an engaged and motivated Medical Officer on a permanent basis; based in Mudgee reporting into the Western Regional Manager. The purpose of this position is to assist employers manage their workplace health risks through the provision of occupational medical assessments, advice and associated reports. To provide support and guidance to other CS Health Medical Officers, the management team and health professionals.

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide a full range of occupational medical services in office and work site environments, as required
  • Provide a range of medical services including Medical Assessments, reporting, referrals, advice to clients and advice to management on current and emerging occupational health issues
  • Maintain high standard of quality and accurate clinical documentation
  • Maintain liaison with employers, workers representatives and external agencies on appropriate health issues
  • Participation in meetings associated with occupational health issues
  • Participate in reviews of current procedures and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Participate in educational programmes to clients on a range of health issues
  • Work with all members of the CS Health team to meet and improve services provision
  • Compliance with relevant legislation, industry codes and company policies and procedures.

To be successful you will have:

  • Qualification recognised by AHPRA as suitable for registration as a medical practitioner
  • Minimum 4 years' post graduate relevant experience
  • Sound Clinical Skills
  • Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Current NSW driver licence and willingness to travel for workplace, educational and operational duties
  • Current registration to perform rail medicals (desirable)
  • A proven understanding of the relevant coal industry Acts and Regulations in the performance of statutory medicals (or ability to obtain)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
