  • Initial 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential for extension


The Cancer Therapeutics CRC (CTX) is an oncology focused small molecule drug discovery and early development biotechnology group, established under the Australian government’s Cooperative Research Centre initiative. CTx’s unique partnership model leverages the capabilities and expertise of its Industry partners with those of a number of Australia’s pre-eminent Medical Research Institutes and Universities. CTx engages in ground breaking research for the treatment of various cancers,  has successfully outlicensed multiple oncology programs to global pharmaceutical companies and has established itself as a leader in epigenetics and immuno-oncology.

CTX is looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our management team. This is a Part Time position, working 24 hours per week, split over 4 or 5 days.


Your Opportunity:

This position will be an executive assistant to the CEO and provide administrative assistance to the management team. The successful candidate will be a reliable team member contributing to the organisation and smooth running of the CTX office and communications. 


The position is responsible for providing general office support including:

  • Minute taking at committee meetings
  • Event organisation and support
  • Calendar management and travel bookings
  • General office management
  • Other administrative duties as required

About You:

  • You are reliable and have excellent organisational abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with competing deadlines
  • Excellent data management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint
  • Experience with social media platforms and ideally wordpress
  • Experience in a similar role in biotechnology or a science background would be an advantage
