Non-Executive Director

Following an independent review of the livestock export trade in 2011, its subsequent recommendations and resulting research, the Livestock Global Assurance Program (LGAP) has been developed to enable exporters to demonstrate compliance with the Australian Government’s Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) requirements.  As a result, an independent, not-for-profit company as the program owner for LGAP is seeking two (2) skills based Non-Executive Directors for the founding Board of Directors. These Director positions are remunerated.
 
Applications are sought from prospective candidates with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas to complement the skills and experience of the existing directors:

  • supply chain management in the areas of traceability systems, chain of custody systems or auditing
  • information technology service management or ICT transformation
  • international trade, diplomacy and communications
  • regulatory compliance and legislative process 

In addition, all applicants should possess the following:

  • high level strategic thinking and leadership
  • corporate governance, preferably with AICD training/membership
  • strong business acumen, sound financial literacy and risk management
  • well-developed communication skills, with a collaborative approach in making an active contribution to strategic and board discussion  

These Non-Executive Director positions represent a unique opportunity to make a valuable difference to ensure the strengthening of the commitment, oversight and management of animal welfare in international trade.
