About the role:
At our C&K Oakleigh Community Kindergarten which is situated in Ashgrove Brisbane, an exciting opportunity has come available for an experienced Early Childhood Professional to join the centre as the Director/Teacher. As the Director/Teacher you will be a part of a centre which supports the Kindergarten with 2 groups. C&K Oakleigh Community Kindergarten provide high quality educational experiences through the implementation of the Building Waterfalls curriculum and encouraging children to express their own ideas through play to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create and extend on their interests.
  • 12-month fixed term contract - Part Time
  • 5-day fortnight, 37.5 hours - Thursdays, Fridays and Alternate Wednesdays
  • Commencing 23 January 2019
What we will require from you as a Teacher Director:
For this Teacher Director position, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter, who has previous experience as a Director Teacher and is armed with a creative vision. You must be an approachable leader amongst the community of families, children and employees; with a hands-on approach in managing the service operationally.
As the Teacher, you will have an ability to document and assess children's learning behaviour and development. Model and support the room educators to utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.
To treat all children with dignity and respect, embracing each child's unique family and background, maintaining an environment that is tolerant and respectful of child and family cultures, values and differences.
You must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification)
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate
  • Knowledge of the C&K Building Waterfalls Curriculum an advantage
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards ("NQF" and "NQS"), the Early Years Learning Framework ("EYLF")
