Community Relations and Internal Communications Advisor

  • Part Time – 3 Days per week
  • Salary $66,767 - $77,649 pro-rata

Our communications team is looking for a Community Relations and Internal Communications Advisor to deliver effective community relations across Western Water’s service region through our schools’ education program, community education, events management, merchandise coordination, mobile information kiosks, community support, grants and sponsorship program and a range of relevant community marketing campaigns. The role will also deliver a dynamic, multi-channel internal communications service across the organisation.

The Community Relations and Internal Communications Advisor will:

  • Coordinate community relations activities such as events, grants and sponsorship that meet Western Water objectives, ensuring continuous improvement and value for money. 
  • Represent Western Water at community events and networks, to build strong, meaningful community relationships across Western Water’s service area
  • Have a strong focus on good governance through accurate records, reporting and strong processes.
  • Produce high quality community relations plans, sponsorship, grant and event plans, including evaluation
  • Manage Western Water’s merchandise, sponsorship and education program, ensuring strong governance, stock management and transparency.
  • Partner with internal clients to develop and implement a coordinated, multi-channel, timely, content rich internal communications program across the business and its multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in planning and implementing communication and engagement projects, community relations development, events and project delivery
  • The ability to operate autonomously and manage workload with limited supervision
  • Internal communications and community relations experience
  • Skill in writing and design for a range of communication materials including hard copy, verbal, face to face, website and social media channels.
