Project Supervisor- Atherton Tabelands

Costa Berries FNQ is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for Project Supervisors to join our growing berry operation on the Atherton Tablelands. This is a great opportunity for emerging supervisors to develop their leadership skills, and experienced supervisors to broaden their work experience.

Costas is the country's leading berry producer with multiple sites across Australia, growing blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. We are the only Australian berry grower to achieve year round production of blueberries and we grow approximately 45% of Australia's total blueberry supply.

The Costa Berries FNQ Team are currently inviting suitable applicants to express their interest in the Project Supervisor role. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Project Supervisor is a casual ongoing position, based across all of our sites on the Atherton Tablelands.

About the Role

The Project Supervisor is a task specific supervisory role which is time-limited to the duration of the project. The role requires the Project Supervisor to work across all sites, providing staff supervision, direction and labour tracking, whilst adhering to WHS policies and procedures, and meeting daily/weekly/whole project targets in line with the budget provided by the Line Manager. You may be required to fulfil other roles in support of whole farm management between projects. Costa invites applicants from farming backgrounds, as well as other industries with transferable skills sets.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Staff management- ensuring staff are meeting task requirements
  • Labour tracking- Working from the budget provided by your Line Manager, ensure labour is meeting daily/weekly targets, and documentation is completed
  • Identify areas to increase productivity and efficiencies in collaboration with your Line Manager
  • Timesheets- ensuring staff are completing their timesheets appropriately and on time
  • WHS- ensure all staff are adhering to appropriate WHS policies and procedures, including SWP's
  • Reporting of all WHS incidents, injuries, near misses and equipment damage to your line Manager
  • WHS- ensure the project meets all WHS standards and staff have access to, and are using appropriate PPE
  • Recruitment- Advising Line Manager of staffing needs
  • Coordinating logistics of staffing and equipment needs
  • Evaluating staff performance, and employing performance management strategies where needed
  • Other reasonable duties as directed

About You

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role as well as:

  • Be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a team,
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Staff management skills
  • Performance management of staff
  • Working in a semi-autonomous role (limited supervision) managing groups of people
  • Ability to undertake strenuous work activities for extended periods of time, under adverse weather conditions
  • Excellent time management skills
