Swimming and Water Safety Assistant

Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 152 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,350 students aged between 3 and 18 years across three main campuses.

The St Kilda Road Campus of Wesley College is seeking a Swimming and Water Safety Assistant to support the delivery of Middle and Senior School Aquatic Education Programmes.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of high quality swimming and water safety lessons as a component of the Physical and Health Education subject area.

Essential attributes and experience include, but are not limited to:

  • A positive, supportive and inclusive approach to aquatics teaching
  • Current AUSTSWIM certification or similar
  • Bronze Medallion endorsement accreditation by a recognised State Authority
  • Experience working with children 8-18 years of age
  • Understanding and experience in planning and delivering high quality aquatics programmes, including swim training, water polo and water safety
  • A minimum of the Working with Children Check is required, with VIT registration preferred

Recent graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time position, commencing in 2019 for 12 months with the possibility of further work.
