Sous Chef

Chancellors Tavern is part of Spirit Hotels.  We operate over 70 hotels in Queensland with small portfolios in Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales.  Our pubs feature some of the best bars, restaurants, fast casual dining options and gaming rooms across Australia and our core purpose is to operate 'Great Pubs Locals Love'.

Chancellors Tavern is situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland. It is a modern hotel with great facilities including a large indoor and outdoor bistro with children's play area, TAB, Sports Bar, gaming room and function facilities ensuring there is something for everyone.

What do I need to have?

We are on the lookout for a team player who is willing to work with both the front of house and kitchen team to deliver top quality food in our hotel. We challenge traditional pecking orders as we seek chefs who inspire, collaborate and contribute to an open, honest and comfortable workplace.

Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will help drive the business by achieving set goals and KPIs. Your individual flair and professionalism will be showcased within this environment and encouraged. This role also leads to career development and the opportunity for working in a great food and beverage operation with a high standard.

You must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and will have held previous management positions within a kitchen environment. You will be confident in working all sections of the kitchen and must be able to train and mentor junior chefs.   • Trade qualified:  Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Passionate about food and creating exceptional dining experiences.

  • Flexible as you will work rostered shifts including nights and weekends.
  • The desire to continually strive towards delivering the best customer experience whilst maximising food revenue across all
  • hotel departments.
