People & Culture Officer

About the role

This role has a generalist focus supporting all aspects of People & Culture, including but not limited to, recruitment and selection, learning and development, administration, performance management and People & Culture reporting. 

This role will be responsible for:

  • Owning the site base recruitment and selection processes including creating and posting job ads, screening of applicants, arranging interviews, reference checking, immigration check;
  • Customising site based induction programs;
  • Coordinates learning and development to drive a high performing and engaged workforce for implantation across the Group with a strong focus on Operations;
  • Ensure that timecards are being reconciled with any discrepancies being adjusted;
  • Current rosters are uploaded into the time and attendance system;
  • Coordinate administration processes for probation reviews, performance development reviews, employee visa’s and renewals and so forth;
  • Monitor and respond to People & Culture enquiries and provide/seek advice, guidance and support to both managers and employees across all aspects of the employee life cycle, escalating where appropriate;
  • Ensuring that all People & Culture documentation including policy and procedures are up to date across all sites; and
  • General administration duties.

This role reports to our General Manager - Operations with support to our group People & Culture Manager.

About you

To ensure success in this role, you will bring your previous People & Culture Officer experience and skills and be able to work within a fast-paced environment. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and eager to learn! You will be a motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and as part of a team. Additionally, you will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or similar;
  • Proven experience as a People & Culture Officer within a fast paced FMCG working environment (Min. 3 years previous experience in a similar role);
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, which have successfully built relationships, driven staff engagement and positive culture;
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative & to identify potential problems & resolve
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Strong attention to detail & time management.
