About the roles

Linlithgow delivers a  Centre-Based Social Support program (formerly known as a Planned Activity Group) for participants within the Northern metro region who are eligible for Commonwealth Home Support (CHSP) services.  A full and active program runs Tuesday to Friday , with activities being developed based on the expressed needs and goals of the group participants.  Activities may include a variety of outings, wellbeing  activities, a full range  of enriching cultural experiences  and events, a nutritious midday meal and  a range  of in house speakers and entertainment .

It is an exciting time of change for our expansive aged and carer  programs and we are planning for future services which support people to get back to the things they love and reconnect with others in their local community.

We are looking for flexible, innovative, enthusiastic and motivated staff to join our small and committed team of staff and extraordinary volunteers. The successful applicant will assist with planning and implementing activities based on clients’ support plans and feedback. From time to time you will support clients with personal care requirements and activities of daily living. You will actively support the program to showcase the importance and  value of well- being, independence and socialisation. Some meal preparation and general cleaning duties are required as well as an ability to follow support plans.

The role supports a socially inclusive approach to active and healthy ageing through the delivery of effective assessment and support which enhances the person’s quality of life and wellbeing within the community. Each person’s capabilities are developed to enable independence in daily living and be able to participate in individual and/or group activities.

About you

In addition to a positive, patient, highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude, you will have demonstrated experience in:

 

·         Working with clients and carers from diverse backgrounds, primarily with older people  and people with dementia.

·         Providing a supportive and socially inclusive approach when working with clients to promote active and health ageing.

·         Contributing to enhanced well-being and enjoyable social experiences.

·         Providing a positive contribution to planning and feedback through oral, written and computer based communication.

·         Excellent interpersonal, customer service and team building skills.

·         Excellent time management and organisational ability to remain responsive in a busy work environment.

Qualifications required for this position are:

 

·         Minimum: Certificate III in Aged Care or HACC

·         Food handling certificate

·         Driver’s license and ability to drive a 12 seater bus

·         Current Certificate in Level 2 First Aid and CPR

·         Current Working With Children Check (WWCC

Desirable:

·         Experience in Diversional Therapy

·         Experienced in Aged Care

·         Experience in delivering exercise programs for all abilities

·         Experience working with volunteers
