AgriFutures Australia is seeking a Manager, Human Resources to be located at their head office in Wagga Wagga. The position is a part-time two-year contract.

The role

You will be responsible for a range of duties across the organisation related to HR including:

a. Leading, developing and implementing HR policies, practices, and working conditions to ensure AgriFutures Australia is a positive, safe and enjoyable place for people to work;

b. Ensuring the organisation is compliant with all Work, Health Safety legislation; effectively manage confidential and sensitive information; ensuring systems and processes are in place to maintain awareness of relevant changes in Government legislation and make recommendations to the leadership team as required; 

c. Assisting managers with building effective working relationships internally and externally, developing opportunities to nurture collaboration, teamwork and partnerships; developing strategies for effectively managing a flexible workforce; ensuring the effective management of the mental health of all staff; leading opportunities for staff to demonstrate AgriFutures Australia’s values;

d. Effectively managing the recruitment of all staff; ensuring all staff contracts are up to date and the necessary insurances are in place;

e. Managing staff training programs, ensuring all staff have the training required to effectively perform their roles; maintaining training attendance register;

f. Managing the staff induction program ensuring all staff are inducted in a timely and effective manner; reviewing current induction program and make recommendations if required;

g. Contributing content for each team and whole of staff team meetings; assisting GM’s by facilitating team meetings and leading WIP’s in their absence if required;

h. Being available to staff for professional development guidance as required; liaising with existing HR providers; demonstrating empathy and lead a solutions-based approach to support the welfare of all staff; supporting managers and staff with performance management issues as required;

i. Maintaining necessary documentation, provide administrative support to the Leadership Team as required.

To be successful in this position, you need to be a qualified HR professional (minimum Bachelor degree) with a minimum five years’ experience working in a corporate or government environment.  

You will have demonstrated strong collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. You will have a can-do attitude and a commitment to AgriFutures Australia’s values.
