About NQBP

North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) is one of Australia’s largest port authorities (by tonnage throughput).  More than half of Queensland’s trade, by tonnage, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point.  NQBP has offices in both Brisbane and Mackay with a workforce of approximately 130 employees. 

The role

Reporting to the Manager Human Resources (HR) and Industrial Relations this role supports the implementation of a range of HR interventions that focus on the HR strategic work.

Accountabilities:

  • Create, implement and coordinate HR strategic programs
  • Consult with management and other leaders to identify organisation development
  • Identity providers to partner with NQBP in the delivery of initiatives and programs
  • Provide HR advice across the full employee lifecycle
  • Develop, maintain and improve HR systems and processes.

Skills and experience:

To be considered for this opportunity you will hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management.  This role operates in a dynamic environment where other essential criteria include experience in:

  • Previous experience in creation, implementation and coordination of strategic HR programs and initiatives
  • Previous experience in the provision of advice and support to supervisors and managers in an industrial setting, ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to
  • Working collaboratively with the stakeholders of the business, whilst having a commercial mindset and strong customer service orientation
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to be empathetic when dealing with people issues, approachable, personable and build rapport easily with a diverse range of people
