Program Manager

Program Manager - Melbourne

Our Client

Our client is a nationwide public sector and government agency, which provides a number of value services to the public and Australian Public Services agencies.

The Role

Our client is looking for a creative, capable and adaptable professional to fill a Program Manager role. The position will be accountable and responsible for delivery of projects, project managers, overseeing program planning, scheduling, dependency management, risk management, reporting and vendor management.

Responsibilities

The Program Manager will be expected to be able to interact effectively across a diverse range of skillsets included ICT experts, policy development, technical writing, procurement and PMO functions.

The role will operate as part of the team of Program Managers and adhere to a common project framework, including standard approaches to scheduling, finances and planning. Within the role there will be flexibility to influence those frameworks and utilize their expertise to enhance the overall outcomes of the program.

The Program Manager will be accountable for the delivery of their workstream outputs, on time and to expected quality standards.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have the following experience:
• The ability to obtain a baseline security clearance.
• Have relevant experience as a Program Manager and have a proven track record of delivering under deadlines and amongst broad stakeholder groups. Specifically:
• Previous Leadership roles in both the establishment and delivery phases of multi-year technology refresh and/or transformation programs;
• Demonstrated achievement of program delivery, managing scope, budget, schedule and expectations in programs valued at more than $100m;
• Proven program delivery capability including overseeing multiple concurrent service providers and customer implementation teams;
• Demonstrated experience working with technically complex projects involving high volume transactions, very large data sets and the integration of multiple technologies;
• Shapes strategic thinking
• Achieves results
• Nurtures productive working relationships
• Communicates with influence
• Exemplifies personal drive and integrity
• Relevant skills and expertise:
• Experience in assessment and upgrade, replatform, retirement, and uplift of applications in the context of a transformation program of work.
• Experience in advising and applying 'best practice' approach to all aspects of program and project management which is practical and results focussed.
• Certification or several years' experience at a senior level, as an expert practitioner of recognised project and program management tools and techniques. PRINCE2 and MSP preferred.
