Teacher Aide

We are Queensland's first grammar school. Our school caters for boys from Prep to Year 12 through an outstanding education offered to day and boarding students. We have developed innovative approaches to address the specific individual learning and personal development needs of boys.

By tailoring programs and activities to meet our students' specific needs, we ensure every boy has the opportunity to reach his full academic, cultural and social potential. Students are supported by staff from various backgrounds who bring world-class knowledge and experience to our learning environment.

 

THE ROLE

The Teacher Aide will be required to support the classroom teacher and to assist specific students within the classroom. This will include in-classroom support, examination preparation/supervision and assignment preparation support.

We have a a permanent position for an experienced Teacher Aide to join us in our Junior School Classrooms. This is a term time position commencing in Term 1, 2019. This is initially a three day per week position however specific hours will be agreed upon with the successful applicant. 

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated ability to support students and teachers.
  • Interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and other community members.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication for a range of specific purposes and audiences.
  • Strong and effective organisational and time management skills including attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The successful application must have previous experience in a similar role
  • Applicants with Learning Support experience will be highly regarded
  • Certificate III in Educational Support is a minimum requirement for this role. 
  • Applicants must hold (or have the ability to attain) a current Blue Card
