Horticulture Apprenticeships

Want to spend your working life outdoors alongside a friendly team who are passionate about what they do?

A Turf Management or Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship is a great way to bring together your love of all things nature and your desire to get outside everyday and work hands on! 

As you will be starting work early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day, you will have the advantage of finishing your work days early too, meaning more time for you to pursue other activities, passions, or sporting commitments in the afternoon!

 

About the Apprenticeship

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated mentor 
  • Opportunity for career development
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification on completion
  • Excellent working conditions
  • Receive full PPE
  • Receive fully reimbursed TAFE fees

 

Duties

  • Mowing and snipping
  • Turf preparation and management
  • Mulching, weeding, planting and tree maintenance
  • Learn how to correctly identify plants and measure PH levels of soil
  • Physical work and occasional heavy lifting, with correct lifting apparatus and training provided
  • Regularly attending and participating in TAFE studies

 

About you

  • Physically fit and self-motivated
  • Eager to work outdoors on a variety of  horticultural projects
  • Strong team mentality with an attitude of helping others
  • Positive attitude towards working full-time and gaining a nationally recognised qualification
  • Consistently reliable and punctual at all times
  • Valid drivers licence is essential
