About the branch

The Melbourne Division consists of a diverse range of Local Ports, waterways, parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Division are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, local port and waterway management, commercial management, community engagement, stakeholder management and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

We're looking for people who are passionate about our parks and delivering a range of different in parks services! As a Ranger you'll carry out the day to day operations and services across our parks, and contribute to their success.  You will undertake activities requiring a level of environmental and service expertise, whilst demonstrating a strong personal work ethic and actively participating in a passionate, committed and innovative team environment.  As a Ranger you will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to build strong relationships with line managers, staff and key stakeholders
  • An understanding of Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field
