About the role

The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for the purchasing of raw materials, office supplies, finished good and facilities maintenance. You will play an important role in providing a range of administrative duties and an excellent customer service manner to maintain strong working relationships.

Duties

  • Taking and placing orders for materials and consumables
  • Maintaining systems and databases
  • Liaising between suppliers and staff
  • Managing relationships and negotiating prices with suppliers
  • Monitoring and reviewing budgets
  • Assisting with inventory management and warehousing duties when required

Skills and experience

  • Experience in a Purchasing or Procurement position (ideally in construction or manufacturing industries)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong negotiation skills
  • Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of units of measure with strong literacy and numeracy skills
