Civil Engineer - Design/Project Manager

Civil Engineer is needed to provide an efficient and technically sound engineering survey, design and project management service for the annual delivery of Capital Works Program projects particularly in relation to roads, sporting facilities, drainage and associated civil infrastructure.

 

Some of your responsibilities are

  • Providing project management/construction supervision expertise to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to the required standard and within budget.
  • Preparing accurate engineering design plans, estimates and contract documents to enable construction works to proceed
  • Assisting section members to ensure that appropriate design procedures and standards are followed.
  • Responsible for checking design plans, estimates and contract specification and documentation for projects requiring independent checks.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on design trends, techniques and upgrades of computer aided design software and hardware.
  • Ensuring that all Project Delivery personal computers and associated equipment are fully operational at all times and to specific designer’s requirements.
  • Supervising and training of staff in Computer Aided Civil Engineering Design and technical applications such as AutoCAD, Civil Cad, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project.

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Extensive experience in municipal engineering or equivalent in design and construction.
  • Ability to lead others in the development of projects.
  • Highly developed engineering survey and design skills and expertise in the use of computers and computer aided design software - CivilCad and AutoCad.
  • Expert in the use of electronic survey equipment.
  • Highly developed communication skills both verbal and written.
