Health and Wellness Educator

The Lakes College provides exceptional student-centred education that develops people of character, who embody Uniting Church values in the community.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate the operations of the Health Centre including the initial assessment and treatment of students and staff
  • Advocate for the health, safety and wellness of children and young people
  • Facilitate the education of relevant individuals as part of a multi-disciplinary team

You should be:

  • Supportive of the Uniting Church Christian ethos within the College
  • Have a relevant qualification in a discipline such as Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology and/or  Behavioural Science
  • Demonstrated skills working with children and adolescents within a youth or educational environment and/or in the of Youth Mental Health First Aid
  • Experience implementing health and wellness programs
  • Previous experience in the provision of first aid services and/or as a nominated first aider
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and implement appropriate strategies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a challenging and complex environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders (to listen and respond in a calm manner)
  • Is diplomatic and tactful and able to maintain confidentiality and monitor level of disclosure on sensitive matters
