Our client is a global leader and in the supply of raw materials and speciality chemicals for a number of market segments. They offer value through expertise by employing highly technical market specialists to promote their speciality chemicals from leading suppliers worldwide.

Due to substantial growth an opportunity for an Account Manager to join their Personal Care team has become available in their Sydney office. This role would serve a portfolio of customers in the Personal Care industry in presenting world class suppliers in additives, actives, and functional and sensorial ingredients. Working closely with a local Applications Laboratory you would have all the technical expertise and knowledge on hand to support your customers with problem solving, offering formulation guidelines and sharing of new and innovative studies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving set financial targets by servicing an existing customer base and building new relationships with potential customers
  • Establishing and maintaining multi-level relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Understanding customers businesses and the market to maximise growth opportunities with business development pipeline activities
  • Ensuring trade agreements, contracts and quotations are maintained and updated
  • Working closely with Industry Managers with ensuring accurate recording of information in CRM and customer follow up
  • Proactive involvement in sales, marketing and laboratory team activities

Ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science/Engineering or related discipline
  • Must have previous experience and an in-depth understanding of the Personal care and/or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Have a strong technical and commercial background with key industry contacts
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to build long term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Possess a strong sense of business acumen
  • A demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving with the drive to determine solutions for customers
  • Flexibility in order to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Be able to demonstrate a positive and results-orientated approach to work
