Austin Health is a major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north east of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplant, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation. 

 

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Administration Worker to join the Spinal Community Services, a division of the Victorian Spinal Cord Service (VSCS). The VSCS is a specialised state-wide service that provides lifelong care to people with spinal cord injury (SCI) in Victoria, Tasmania and southern New South Wales, and the SCS is inclusive of community and outpatient programs.

 

The Administration Worker will provide a professional customer-focused and efficient administration function within the team, to enhance patient care and service delivery. To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to meet staff and client’s administrative support needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to an excellent standard, including in verbal and written form.
  • Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and occupational health and safety.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, care and sensitivity to the specific needs of the diverse range of client groups e.g. non-English speaking background, veterans and the aged.
  • Flexible and responsible attitude to meet patients and the department's needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with particularly strong skills in working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in data entry in programs such as Microsoft Access and The Care Manager (TCM).
  • Proficiency in TrakCare application.
  • Ability to work across both Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, and Austin sites.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory National Police Check conducted by Austin Health and if required, a Working With Children Check.
