EOI: Tier 2 Drone / Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Operators & Maintainers

About the role:

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Operator and Maintainer is responsible for conducting varying types of commercial RPAS flight activities, performing field maintenance and for processing data for customers.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Overall Pilot in Command (PIC) actions whilst undertaking flight planning and missions.
  • Ensuring the RPA and supporting hardware is serviceable for flight operations.
  • Performing field maintenance activities in order to support flight operations.
  • Undertaking RPAS operator activities and responsibilities in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Regulations and Insitu Pacific's Operator Certificate.
  • Processing data to meet customer defined objectives.
  • Updating and maintaining aviation documentation including personal flying qualification and currency records, flight logs and aircraft/system logs.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience operating the Cloud Cap Piccolo Flight Management System.
  • CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL).
  • Commercial operations experience with rotary or fixed wing RPAS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australia's airspace regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to communicate with air traffic effectively.
  • Australian Open Driver Licence.
  • The ability to prioritise, work accurately and unsupervised.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

Also desirable:

  • Private or Commercial Pilot Licence.
  • Current Instrument Rating or IREX.
  • Experience using imagery analysis, mapping, processing and dissemination tools such as PIX4D, Cloud Compare and LAS Tools. 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including application, hardware and networking experience.
