Project Finance Analyst - WestConnex

About the role
The Project Finance Analyst reports to the Project Finance Manager and is a central figure in managing WestConnex project financing arrangements including co-ordination with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring compliance with all project financing documents.

Under the leadership of the Project Finance Manager, this role ensures WestConnex continues to have access to funding arrangements and operates in compliance with the relevant company policies and financing documents.

The impact you will have:

  • Ensure all reporting requirements under the M4, M5 and M4-M5 Link debt documents are complied with including updating Cost to Complete models, coordinating the Financier Certifier certification process, facilitation of monthly sign offs and other reporting obligations
  • Ensure all debt and derivative payment obligations are met and notices are provided in accordance with facility documentation including drawdown / withdrawal notices, interest and swap payments
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Facility Agents, Financiers and Financier Certifiers
  • Prepare any necessary board papers, bank consents and coordinate approvals with Financiers and other stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively and provide advice and assistance to Project Teams as required. Understand and ensure that all policies are complied with including liaison with Transurban treasury 
  • Manage cash forecasting for Project teams, monitoring reserves and surplus cash
  • Work collaboratively with the internal finance, accounting and Transurban teams on project finance related matters including reporting and accounting
  • Other special or project work as required including analysis of Project distributions and cash flow forecasting

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • The ability to operate to tight timeframes and with a high level of detail
  • A strong desire to expand your experience in managing complex financing arrangements
  • A relevant engineering, commerce, law or finance degree, ideally to post graduate level
  • Experience in a financial or corporate environment with project finance documentation or complex financing transactions
  • Become a trusted source of debt financing advice and interpretation of financing documents to non-finance personnel
  • Experience working in a team environment dealing with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate and interact positively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good financial modelling experience and advanced excel skills
  • Results-oriented and committed to delivering tangible outcomes to senior management.

Highly regarded experience:

  • Exposure to large infrastructure project financing transactions including PPPs
  • Knowledge of project financing related structures and documents including Common Terms Deeds, Syndicated Facility Agreements and Derivative agreements
  • Knowledge of Trust, Trustee and stapled entity companies
